Segun Makinde

Segun's marketing journey began when one of his early professors set out to persuade every student in the class to switch from their current major to a marketing major. Needless to say – it worked, and Segun's passion for marketing and branding was ignited.

Segun holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing from the Telfer School of Management, a Master of Management Innovation & Entrepreneurship from Queen's University, and certifications as a Scrum Master, Product Manager, and in Digital Marketing Strategy from Harvard Business School. His multidisciplinary background and commitment to continuous learning uniquely position him to deliver insightful solutions, tackle complex challenges, and drive success in an ever-evolving business landscape.

Before joining Whirl, Segun had a successful career in professional athletics as a sprinter, competing in two Olympic Games and winning multiple national and international medals and awards. Outside of work, Segun enjoys staying active (after all, he's an Olympian), reading a good book (he’s always open to recommendations!), and exploring new coffee shops.
