Our first MTS Allstream sales conference communicated to the sales force – a sense of calm self-confidence in a company undergoing fast-paced change in the highly competitive telecommunications industry. They had a new brand, a revamped product portfolio, a new leadership team – and a need to pull it all together to forge a new level of success.


The theme of “Focus”, gave this challenge a conceptual Zen twist, and positioned a fun creative platform for a two-day business meeting – incorporating an extreme martial arts troupe, Japanese Taiko drummers, Chinese acrobats and interactive judo and drumming experiences.


Subsequently we took the show on the road with “Momentum”, a series of single-day regional sales meetings across the country that reinforced the vision.


The next year we brought the entire team back together for an intensive and exciting three-day learning experience – a cool, hip “university of the streets” experience called “XLU”. The course description was fast, fun and intensive learning, and featured a general session, 45 breakout sessions, and two social events, including a 100th Anniversary Celebration for 1200 employees at one of Toronto’s hottest nightclubs.


WHIRL created the theme design, digital invitations, registration sites, set, room and event design, animations, video, speaker support, content development and speechwriting, giveaways, F&B, evening events, and print collateral for each year’s event.


These conferences resulted in improved morale, sales success and very high employee survey results. One thrilled client summed it up as, “Offering the highest production values we’ve ever had!”
